Made from natural materials, the Sun Eclipse yoga mat cork will be an eco-friendly mat you can be proud of.
Natural materials?
Yes! The mat is made up of two layers: the top layer is made of cork. This cork comes from the bark of a Cork Oak, which is harvested every few years without harming the tree itself.
After the cork is removed, the tree rejuvenates its bark – a completely renewable and sustainable process. Cork bark rejuvenation absorbs CO2 from the air and the material itself is bio-degradable, leaving zero toxic or chemical remains.
The bottom layer of the mat is made from natural rubber, which is harvested from rubber trees via a rubber tapping process. This layer adds additional comfort whilst making sure the mat stays straight at all times.

Anti-bacterial properties
Forget about smelly mats! Because of the natural anti-bacterial properties cork possesses, it eliminates germs, bacteria, and odors without getting sprayed and cleaned after each practice.
If you like to work out at home, cork mats won’t leave any nasty smell on your floor or carpet.
It is recommended though to maintain your yoga mat cork from time to time – you can do this by spraying it with a mix of water and apple cider vinegar.
Slip-resistant
The yoga mat cork provides superb grip when moisture is added, releasing Suberin, a waxy substance.
No matter how much you sweat during your hot yoga or Ashtanga class, your mat will not get slippery.
Actually, the mat’s grip can be even maximized simply by spraying a bit of water on your hands and feet.
